Active NYU alumni gathered to join the locally renowned Ivy Ball – one of the major parties in the Taipei high-society social scene. The Ivy Ball is traditionally held at end of each year and this year the event was sponsored by the Harvard Alumni Club. With members of eight Ivy League schools and two guest schools attending every year, NYUTAS was invited, along with the University of Chicago

With many celebrities attending the ball, NYU’s heavyweight alumni also added more attention to an already-high profile event. Prominent NYU alumni in attendance included Dr. Paul Hsu (LLM’69, LAW) and his wife, James Jin (STERN), Richard Tsai (MBA’81, STERN), CJ Cheng (STERN), NYUTAS founding president Paul Chu (BS’77, School of Engineering and Science) among other distinguished NYU alumni. NYUTAS President Wellington Koo (LLM’88, LAW) who was formerly the chairman of the Taipei Bar Association, led the a total of 40 NYU alumni attending the ball.

By participating in the Ivy Ball, NYUTAS was able to establish new relations with several Ivy League Alumni clubs while strengthening existing friendships with others. Held at the Grand Hyatt, the ball was quite successful. The event started at around 7:00pm and ended at 10:00pm.
